Summer Instructional Tennis Program
The City of Charles Town, in conjunction with Jefferson County Parks and Recreation, is pleased to offer another great summer of tennis, led by Coach Jorge Almeyda.
Mr. Almeyda was born in Peru and played collegiate tennis before becoming a USPTA Professional Tennis Instructor. He has spent more than 10 years coaching tennis, leading tennis clinics, and hosting tournaments in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Mr. Almeyda works with the First Serve Tennis Academy and continues to coach high level tennis players in UTR, USTA and ITF tournaments.
These small group programs will help your young tennis player improve their skills and take their game to the next level. Programs are offered for various age and skill groups, so you're sure to find the perfect fit for your child.
Each day, your child will build on the skills and concepts learned the days prior through drills and technique work with experienced instructors. Week 2 of the program will feature more game-like scenarios to help your player continue to improve their play, while also becoming familiar with the rules and etiquette of competitive tennis.
Classes are held Monday-Thursday each week, with Friday being reserved for make-up classes, if needed, due to rain. All play will take place at Jefferson Memorial Park in Charles Town, WV.
(Participants should bring their own racket if they own one, there will be a limited amount available to borrow)
