Santa's First Sensory-Friendly Polar Party at Sam Michaels Park!
Step into a winter wonderland at the Jefferson County Community Center for a holiday celebration designed with sensory-friendly accommodations in mind. This event was created so that children who may be not comfortable participating in our larger Polar Party due to their disabilities and/or sensory sensitivities can still enjoy a magical, memorable day with Santa in a calm and welcoming setting.
Activities include:
- Meet & greet with our Sensory Certified Santa (don’t forget your camera!)
- Cupcake decorating
- Hot cocoa bar
- Letter-writing to the North Pole
- Indoor snowball fun
- Make your own reindeer food to sprinkle on Christmas Eve
- Build-your-own polar teddy bear to take home
A sensory break room will be available, along with noise-canceling headphones. The environment will have low noise, and registration is limited to maintain a calm, comfortable atmosphere. Children of all ages with disabilities and/or sensory sensitivities, as well as their siblings, are welcome. All children participating must be registered.
