Global Disclaimer and Terms of Participation
Please Read Carefully Before Creating a MyRec Account
 
By creating a MyRec account, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in the following disclaimers:
 
  1. Program Participation & Liability Waiver
Participation in JCPRC programs involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
  • Minor injuries (sprains, scrapes, cuts)
  • Major injuries (fractures, dislocations)
  • Severe injuries, including paralysis or death
These risks apply whether the activity takes place in person at a JCPRC facility or through a virtual program.
 
By registering:
  • You assume all risks associated with participation.
  • You agree that JCPRC, its staff, instructors, volunteers, and the Jefferson County Commission are not liable for any injury or damage you or your child may sustain.
  • All medical expenses resulting from injury during JCPRC programs are your sole responsibility.
 
  1. Medical Conditions & Special Needs
It is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to notify JCPRC staff before the program begins of any:
 
  • Medical conditions
  • Allergies
  • Special needs
Please note:
JCPRC is not responsible for your child before or after scheduled class times.
 
  1. Photo and Media Release
You grant permission for JCPRC to photograph or video your child during programs.
These images may be used for:
 
  • Promotional materials
  • Social media
  • Website and marketing purposes
 
If you do not wish photos of your child to be used by the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission (JCPRC), you must submit a formal written request to JCPRC. Please note that all opt-out requests will expire at the end of the calendar year in which they are submitted.
 
  1. Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization
In case of a medical emergency, you authorize JCPRC staff to:
  • Administer basic first aid
  • Obtain emergency medical care if needed
You agree to hold JCPRC harmless for any resulting care, treatment, or medical expenses.
 
  1. Code of Conduct – Parent & Child Expectations
To ensure a positive and safe environment, all participants and guardians must:
  • Listen to and follow staff instructions
  • Treat others with kindness and respect
  • Respect for facilities, equipment, and program materials
  • Keep hands, feet, and personal items to themselves
  • Use indoor voices inside buildings
  • Clean up after themselves
  • Maintain a positive attitude
Unacceptable Behavior Includes:
  • Stealing
  • Use of profanity, racially insensitive verbiage
  • Violence of any form (hitting, kicking, biting, etc.)
  • Property damage
Behavior Management Steps:
  1. Redirection
  2. Verbal warning
  3. Time-out
  4. Written incident report (parents notified)
  5. Parent-staff meeting (possible suspension or removal)
 
  1. Program Refund Policy
JCPRC encourages early decisions to ensure program quality.
 
All refund requests must be submitted in writing (via refund request form) and follow the below listed timeline.
 
Please note: Requests received after 8:00 AM on a business day will be processed as if received on the next business day.

Important Notes:
  • No refunds for missed sessions or ticketed events
  • Admin fees are applied per program
  • Out-of-county, supply/registration or t-shirt fees are non-refundable
  • If a program is canceled by JCPRC, a full refund will be issued (no fees)
 
  1. Facility Rental Terms & Conditions
By reserving a JCPRC facility, you agree to the following:
A valid credit card is required to secure all reservations and will be kept on file for potential cleaning or damage fees.
 
If you prefer not to use a credit card, a $50 refundable deposit is required in addition to the full reservation fees.
 
JCPRC reserves the right to cancel any reservation in case of emergency or unforeseen circumstances. Refunds will be issued if cancellation is by JCPRC.
 
You agree to release and indemnify JCPRC from any claims or damages arising from your use of the facility.
 
You are responsible for securing your own insurance coverage. A certificate of insurance may be required.
 
Alcohol is strictly prohibited at personal facility rentals.
 
You are responsible for cleaning up after your event, including:
Wiping tables and kitchen appliance
Removing trash to dumpsters
Turning off all electrical items
 
If this is not completed, a $50 cleaning fee will be assessed.
Cancellation Fees:
$50 admin fee if canceled 30 calendar days in advance
 
No refund if canceled less than 30 calendar days prior to event
 
Weather-related cancellations for outdoor venues may be refunded with proof of local severe weather advisory
 
No refunds for athletic field rentals
Only the original booking contact person may request changes or cancellations.
 
You are responsible for maintaining order, cleanliness, and supervision during your rental.
 
You will be billed for any damage to facilities or equipment.
 
This agreement serves as your digital signature and acknowledgment of the rental contract terms.
 
By proceeding with MyRec account creation or program registration, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted all the above terms.
