Lace up and get moving with our homeschool running club! This fun, supportive program meets twice per week and gives homeschoolers a chance to build endurance, learn proper running techniques, and set personal goals—all while enjoying the outdoors and staying active with friends. Each session includes warm-ups, running games, and age-appropriate challenges designed to keep kids motivated and moving. Jefferson County Wild LacrosseJC Wild Lacrosse is in its fifth year of providing lacrosse for county youth. Teams will be organized by grade levels (1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, high school) for girls and boys. Beginners are welcome to join us and learn this fast-paced, fun and competitive game!  Parent meeting and uniform sizing with ordering details will be scheduled over the winter. For questions, please email jeffersoncountylacrosse@gmail.com Grades K/1-8:Your child will have at least twice weekly practice (times TBD by coaches) to learn fundamental skills and rules for lacrosse. Games will mostly take place in MD, WV, VA or PA on Saturdays for boys and Sundays for girls. Practices begin early March at James Hite Park or nearby field with games running from mid-March through mid-June culminating in an end of the season tournament.  All players will need to register for a USA Lacrosse membership.  Equipment is not provided. Boys required equipment includes: black helmet, mouth guard, chest protector, elbow pads, gloves, athletic supporter, cleats (no metal spikes), stick. Girls required gear includes: goggles, mouth guard, cleats (no metal spikes) and stick. Limited equipment available to borrow. Required uniform pieces include black jersey (black & white reversible jersey for girls), black shorts (skirt for girls). Black base layers recommended for cold game days. Total uniform package cost ranges $40-60. Uniforms may be worn year after year. Black base layers recommended for cold game days. Individual replacement pieces may be purchased as needed. Opening game weekend is tentatively March 14-15, 2026.  Our club currently plays in Western Maryland Lacrosse youth league. Booster fee to be collected at onset of the season.High School:Teams consist of Jefferson County high school students from JHS and WHS. Additionally, private school and home school students in the county or those not eligible to play for their local WV high school out-of-county may also register. Practices occur 3-5 days per week at WMS or nearby field typically 4:45-6:30 beginning February 16th. Season games begin in March through mid-May across the state with possible games in VA or PA through the WVSLA organization. Eligible players must meet a 2.0 GPA requirement. All players will need to register for a USA Lacrosse membership. Equipment is not provided. Boys required equipment includes: black helmet, mouth guard, chest protector, elbow pads, gloves, athletic supporter, cleats (no metal spikes), stick. Girls required equipment includes: goggles, mouth guard, cleats (no metal spikes) and stick. Limited equipment available to borrow. Required uniform pieces include black jersey (black & white reversible jersey for women), blue jersey, black shorts (skirt for women) and practice pinnie. Total uniform package cost ranges $100-125. Black base layers recommended for cold game days. Uniforms may be worn for entirety of high school. Individual replacement pieces may be purchased as needed. Booster fee to be collected at onset of season.

Bring your kids aged 1-14 to spend the summer with us in these fun-filled half-day camps!  Led by JCPRC staff members with combined decades of experience in childcare and youth programming, your camper is sure to have a blast while they run, play, create and learn new skills.  With so many camp themes and  different age groups, you're sure to find a camp for everyone!Campers should bring a small snack and refillable water bottle to camp each day.  Weather permitting, campers will spend at least a portion of each day outside, so dress appropriately!

Is your camper registered for a morning half-day camp and an afternoon half-day camp at Sam Michaels Park?  Do work or other commitments have you away during the day?  Don't want to make the extra trip out to pick up and drop off each day?LUNCH BUNCH IS THE PROGRAM FOR YOU!Your camper will be signed out of their morning camp by a JCPRC staff member, who will spend the lunch hour with them and other Lunch Bunchers, then will drop them off and sign them into their afternoon camp program.  You'll only need to drop off at 9 and pick up at 4!Campers must bring a packed lunch each day.  This is ONLY for campers registered for BOTH morning and afternoon camps, and is not an early drop-off or extended care program.

With national and international performance experience spanning classical, opera, gospel, R&B, jazz, and musical theater, Chanta inspires students to discover their authentic voices, embrace creativity, and use the arts as a tool for personal growth and transformation.

Participants will build social skills and friendships in a supportive, low-pressure environment designed to help them thrive together.Participants should be able to engage in group activities without one-on-one support. Pre-registration is required.
